Artist Lee Nicholls

Lee Nicholls was born in Derby but moved to the West Midlands when he was a child. 


After school he was employed as a Civil Engineering Technician.


In 1987, after selling more than 200 greeting card designs he became a full time illustrator, cartoonist and designer and is totally self taught. 


Lee Nicholls has since produced work for children's books, toys, packaging and merchandise and his clients include Cadbury, Early Learning Centre, Mothercare, Tarmac, Marks & Spencer and Oxford University Press.


Seven years ago Lee moved from the West Midlands to the Kent coast. His studio is an old shop 100m from the harbour.


At this time, having always had his own projects "on the side", Lee began concentrating on his own paintings.


He has since produced a fine collection of prints and greeting cards.
