Marie Brown was born in 1978 in Nottingham where she has lived all her life.

Throughout her childhood Marie enjoyed all kinds of art, especially drawing and trying to create a likeness of something on paper.

Marie Brown studied Art at ‘A’ level and then took an Art and Design Foundation Course, but it was several years later, in 2005, that her passion for drawing really grew.Marie began by drawing dogs and cats, then wildlife, she discovered she loved drawing fur! Having always loved animals she soon became enthusiastic about drawing them.

She practised as often as she could learning tips and techniques from other pencil artists. Her sketches gradually developed into more detailed studies and this has continued to creating a realistic appearance.

Marie Brown decided to take her hobby more seriously and she began taking on commissions for pet (and people) portraits and she hasn’t stopped drawing since.
