"Collectable Limited Editions for your Home"

Margaret Hobson

Margaret Hobson

Margaret Hobson was born in Bradford, England and attended Bradford Art College in the 1960’s. She has been a practising artist ever since.

She taught at Keighley College, but decided that a new millenium should be the start of her new career. In February 2000 she resigned from her teaching post to devote her time to painting, a decision supported by her husband Jeff.

Margaret Hobson has always loved cats and been fascinated by architecture, textiles, pottery, flora and the cultures of different countries. Having decided to concentrate on painting cats, it seemed natural to combine them with images of her other interests and she produced a series of illustrations entitled " Cats of the World". Five of these have now been published as Limited Edition prints.

Margarets’ work was shown at a 3 day exhibition in the Piece Hall, Halifax and she has been accorded membership of the Society of Feline Artists. Four of her Originals will be shown at the S.O.F.A exhibition in the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, London in September.

One of Margarets’ strengths is her thorough research of the chosen subject and she is currently extending her portfolio to include illustrations of specific breeds, which will have backgrounds relevant to the cats origins and also cats in humorous situations.

Her style, content and painstaking attention to detail are proving to be a winning combination and are attracting both cat and art lovers.
