Ian Kent was born in 1965 and from as far back as he can remember always pencil drawn and depicted wild and domestic animals. Since becoming a full time wildlife artist many of his paintings have appeared within and on the front cover of major British and American magazines including BBC Wildlife and Wildscape. His original works have sold in auctions and are sought after by collectors in Europe, America & Australia.

Ian Kent is a member of the Wildlife Art Society. and has sold work in all the major exhibitions in the UK. Many of his bird paintings have been licensed to publishers to be used in Calendars, Cards, Diaries and Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles adding still further to the desirability,collectability and value ofhis published prints and original works. In 2005 Ian was given the Gold Award in an International Wildlife exhibition for his painting entitled, " The Greenfinches Of Lemon Grove".

Ian Kent is inspired by many other artists for different reasons, amongst these are Carl Brenders for the realism and detail in his work, Terry Isaac and Robert Bateman for their landscapes and picture settings and David Shepherd O.B.E for his work in the area of animal conservation and for making modern wildlife art popular.
