Sand & Sea Heart Pendant - Handmade in the UK

More Views

Julie Fountain is the artist behind Beach Art Glass. She personally creates every item of jewellery and homeware in her Malvern studio.

Each Beach Art Glass piece starts with the handmade glass bead, which Julie creates by melting simple rods of glass in a flame, combining the colours of sand and sea, creating the shapes using heat and gravity, and finishing with intricate glass details and a touch of fine silver.

Whilst every bead in the range is clearly redolent of the seashore, and evoking seaside memories from both at home and abroad, Julie’s designs are highly influenced by the glass itself – the colours and patterns, textures and shapes. What originally started out as simple swirls of colour and shape have over time developed into a distinctive and highly focused collection of shapes and finished pieces that have delighted customers all over the world.

Julie uses sterling silver findings to turn the individual beads into wearable art jewellery.

All Pendants and bracelets carry the Silver British Hallmark from Birmingham Assay Office.

This handmade glass heart-shaped bead measures approximately 30mm wide.

The bead is decorated on both sides and all the little beachy details are handmade and applied carefully in the flame.

The shiny dots are 99% pure fine silver, melted into the surface of the glass.

The extra heavyweight silver pin and hallmarked ring bail have been especially handmade to suit the range.

The sterling silver Belcher chain is 18″ long.

The pendant will be supplied in a Beach Art Glass branded hinged gift box of the highest quality, with protective sleeve.

Please remember, as every bead is individually handmade there will always be differences in their composition.
